Wedding Album: Amanda and Andy
8 Dec
I recently made a wedding album for one of my favorite bloggers. Amanda and Andy got married over the summer, and she asked if I’d make her a wedding album. After looking through her photo slideshow, I was in love with 1) the photography at her wedding and 2) all of the green leaves, grass, etc. I asked Amanda what exactly she preferred and she said that she was giving me “creative freedom.” How wonderful! A chance to plork! (play + work).
Here was the end result:
Obviously I feel in love with the green, so I decided to use that as the base color. Amanda and Andy were married under a big tree, so I wanted to incorporate a “bark-like” feel. Her bridesmaids’ dresses were purple, hence the two purple hearts.
I was going to include their names on the hearts, but at the last minute – I decided against it. I wanted both Amanda and Andy to have an opportunity for each of them to sign their names and the date – that way the book is more personalized. I thought it might be neat to see her handwriting on one heart and his on the other – the joining of two hearts into one, forming one tree (so to speak). Gosh I love metaphors.
The inside of the book has 25 pages with cover sheets. I also lined the inside of the book with the same purple from the hearts.
I then bound the book together using twine string that felt appropriate with the bark paper. I really hope they like this! Through making this book I’ve discovered that green + brown + purple = pretty!
Thanks, Amanda – for giving me creative freedom. It was fun!
I am finally caught up on all the books on my list which means – I have time to make more!
