Kind of a Big Deal

3 Dec

I loved reading your responses to this morning’s post about concerts!

Just to recap, here are some concerts where you’ve had magical experiences: James Taylor, Michael Buble, Incubus, Old Crowe, Avett Brothers, the Decemberists, Simon and Garfunkel, The Flaming Lips, Hilary Duff, Journey, Elvis Perkins, Blur, Elton John, the Police, U2, Dave Matthews Band, Kings of Leon, John Mellencamp, REO Speedwagon and Godsmack.

Talk about a diverse list. I will note that I have seen only three bands from this list. Could you guess who they are?

Food

I don’t know whether I’ve told you before, but tuna melts are a huge deal in my office.

I’ve never had one, and today was the day. It was everything that my coworkers promised and more.

It was pretty loaded with tuna salad. I hate wasting, but I didn’t need to eat that much of it – so I scraped some off into the trash. My office is going to smell nice and fresh today.

The only thing missing was a side salad or some sort of veg other than a pickle. But now I’m full!

Worth the calories!

Art

Do you remember when I made a CD case/book over the summer? I finally hung it up last night in the spot where our diplomas used to hang.

10.11.09 535

There’s something great about saying, “I’m hanging up my book.” I love book forms.

I’m content with it here. Now I just need to know what to do with my Bachelor of Arts. Hum…

Fun

I think Bill made fun of me when I put yesterday’s note card on the board, but I meant it seriously.

Yes, it’s a pun. But I hope the message is still clear. I decided to start hanging things out of order since it originally looked like an American flag.

So far I’m really liking this project of mine. It makes me think differently about things I see and experience. It’s always something nice to have something creative to look forward to when I get home – even if it only takes a minute.

Back to the grind!

It’s been WAY too long since I last enjoyed a tuna melt. I see one in my near future…

I forgot to tell you my little sayings that I live by yesterday: “Happiness is a choice.” and “Life is what you make of it.” Guess I’m kind of a control freak.

No offense, but I’m kind of gagging at the thought of room temperature tuna in your trash can :)

I guess Hilary Duff!!!! Definitely!! That was way too easy of a question, Rose!

That sammie looks like a pillow of goodness straight from a magazine!
