Very Unplanned Weekend
15 Nov
Well, it was an interesting weekend. Almost everything I had planned completely changed, and that’s OK. Bill was off in Asheville, NC, with his guy friends so I had the place to myself. Unfortunately, I started feeling pretty sick at work on Friday and ended up spending the rest of the night laying around in bed. It was not at all how I wanted to spend Friday
I was supposed to go to a poetry reading, which is right up my alley of course! It wasn’t the flu, but it was some serious tummy trouble. It was for the best that I stayed close to home.
Saturday was also blah. Honestly? I did absolutely nothing. Eats were not at all interesting. I didn’t do any homework (shame!) It was a very unproductive day.
Cat was supposed to come down in the afternoon and stay the night. Her sister actually had plans to stay with us on Saturday night – she was in Baltimore seeing a show. Cat showed up around 9 p.m., which was just fine for me because I napped most of the afternoon. We ordered a pizza when she got here.

We of course talked for several hours until Theresa and her friend Cody showed up. It was actually great timing when they came because we were both starting to feel super sleepy, and Thre pumped us right up. Check out this sisterly love:

More sister love. Aren’t they cute? I’m glad they got to see each other as Cat lives in PA and Thre is in VA.

Also – random coincidence. It turns out that Thre and Cody stayed with MY COUSIN on Friday night. Talk about weird. I have a cousin who lives in Baltimore, and we pieced it together that he was Cody’s friend. I can’t wait to tell my mom about this
We spent the night talking and reminiscing about PA. We even got out my middle school journal and did some dramatic readings. I’m so glad I wrote things down.

We stayed up pretty late and I crashed immediately upon going to bed. I don’t know why my body is so run down – I need to fix that!
The next morning there were only two things on our mind: pancakes and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cat and I prepared breakfast.

I enjoyed stirring.

Ultra gooey and delicious.

Cat was playing her mom “Ceil” in this one

Check out the spread. We dined on the living room floor.

The pancakes turned out pretty well, I must say!

Because I live in DC and the Redskins were on, we had to rig up live streaming via the internet and play it on the TV. Oh, technology…

Around 3 p.m. (when the Steelers started losing) Bill and Dave arrived from their male bonding trip. Cody had become quite smitten with Bill due to his book/cd collection on the bookshelf, so he couldn’t wait to talk to him.

It’s nice to have my house packed full of people sometimes.
We also missed on Kelly a little bit – her boyfriend James sent me print photos from the Bloomington trip!

Then it was time for everyone to talk off in the setting sun.

Nothing like an out of the ordinary weekend. Now I’m totally exhausted and need to sleep. Goodnight!

Oooh I love your pancake griddle! Need to get one of those!
I’m glad you’re feeling better! Tummy issues are the pits. Looks like you had fun with the ladies! Ya’ll are so cute. What a yummy pancake bfast. Hope you get some rest tonight and have a nice Monday
Sorry for the tummy issues, but looks like a fun time you guys had.
Looks like a great weekend. I love eating a whole meal on the floor – such a nice change of pace!
What a fun weekend! I’ll have to try PB on pancakes!
Sounds like a fun weekend. I have taken out my middle and high school journals and had many a laugh reading them.
I hope you’re feeling better now. Oh, and I love that you ate your pancakes on the living room floor:)

Oh, I missed on you guys too, especially as I read this post! Sorry I missed your phone call (assuming you were with Cat when she called). I was doing work and just silenced it without looking then forgot to check until it was pretty late…
