Bad Haircut
21 Jul
Did you ever have a bad haircut?
I’m pretty sure I did – and now I’m down in the dumps. No matter what I do – I can’t tame this hair!
The only time I *kinda* like my new ‘do is when I let it go curly crazy. But even then it still starts looking like a fro by the end of the day!
What should I do?!
- A) Deal with it
- B) Call my hairdresser and ask for help
- C) Cry and cry and cry
I’m afraid to call my hairdresser. Have you ever had to do that?
What’s the worst hair cut you’ve ever had?
This one isn’t the worst. It just wasn’t what I wanted and doesn’t go well with my round face shape.

Awww – what a cute little oat bowl man though! I would call your hair dresser. Everyone makes mistakes I’m sure she/he will understand. My mom took me to supercuts when I was little and the cut one side of my hair 1/2″ to 3/4″ shorter than the other haha.
Ugh yes, I’ve had a wretched haircut before and although I reeeeally didn’t want to, I called my hairdresser. Honestly, she couldn’t have been more nice and willing to make it better. I’m betting yours will be too!
I usually get to a point when my hair is really long and I just chop it off up to my chin… the last time I did it I woke up in the middle of the night clutching for my hair and crying. I’ve recently had the itch to chop it off but I had a dream the other night that where I did, and again, I started crying. It’s amazing how emotional hair can make us!
I think you should definitely call your hairdresser, or maybe go to another one that could help you find a happy fix.
That oatmeal is very cute. Personally, I’d just let it grow out, but that’s just me. I guess it depends on how bad it is.
The last time I got my hair cut it was so bad that I had to go back the next day and have her cut it again. She was super nice about it though. I say go for it.
Now that I’m older I’m completely boring and only get trims at the hairdresser. But I got a lot of bad cuts when I was younger and I cried and cried and cried.
Definitely call your hairdresser if it’s really bothering you or go to someone else. You should have hair that makes you happy
The same thing happened to me in November! Call your hairdresser – you’ll feel much better!
Also – I’m sure it looks absolutely gorge – you are just being a drama queen. (LOL -totally kidding about the drama queen – just trying to get you to laugh my lovely Rose!!!)
I am so sorry for the haircut, but it inspired the cutest oatmeal bowl ever! That being said, definitely call your hairdresser! You paid for a cut, and you should be happy with it! You deserve your money’s worth.
Well you should: A
I always: C… but I end up eventually going with A
hang in there, you are a beautiful girl, I’m sure even a shaved head would look cute on your mug
when im that unhappy with a hair cut i’ll call the hairdresser and go back. They appreciate it when you do that instead of just not going back to them. They want to make you happy! you definitely should go back
i love your breakfasts.
call your hairdresser! I’ve had to go back and get things fixed, it’s not a big deal.
This is by far your funniest bowl of oats! You made me smile this morning
When I was younger, obsessed with looking like the Olsen Twins, and didn’t know how to properly straighten my hair, ever trip to the salon was rough. I don’t get my haircut anymore though!
Aw, sorry bout the hair. The oatmeal is adorable, though! I’ve never been very adventurous with my haircuts, but I did permanently dye my natural blonde hair nearly BLACK for 2 years. Bad, bad decision! I did it at home, and when I finally decided to go back the blonde, they couldn’t bleach the dye out! It was too messed up. It took about a year of getting highlights to loosen the dye to get my blonde hair back.
Awww! I usually just find some way to deal with it…I’m too chicken to complain :\ Eventually it will grow out and maybe you’ll like it better?
Btw, this is the cutest bowl of oats ever
Ugh, that’s so annoying! Are you close with your hairdresser? If so, I would just call him/her and explain the situation… it sucks to pay for a haircut and then hate it!
I like the “hair” on your oats, btw. That cracked me up.
I would say call your hairdresser, but I understand just waiting for it to grow out. The worst haircut I had was when my dad decided to trim my bangs himself. I sneezed while he was doing it so he cut too short. Let me tell you it was not pretty.
I’m sure you look fine. We are always are own worst critics.
Hahaha, your oats gave me a good, happy chuckle this morning!
I have really curly hair and in 6th grade the hairdressed talked me into bangs. WTF?!?! Needless to say, my bangs turned into five or six ringlets across my forehead by noon every day. Horrible.
If it’s really bothering you, I say call your hairdresser. If it’s something that deal with for a few weeks until it grows a bit, then I might deal with it. Sometimes letting it grow and taking time to work with it helps.
I’ve had one TRULY awful cut back in college. My usual hairdresser cut my hair super short just under my ear lobe and it was pretty cute. Months later it was getting kind of gnarly looking but I didn’t have time to go home.. so I called a local salon that looked “safe” and requested a hairdresser used to cutting short hair. WRONG IDEA. She cut it in this awful wedge shape and it looked like I had two different haircuts on either side of my head. I did go back and requested she fix it, but she made it worse.
It was already way too short to fix it without making myself look like a boy.. so I just dealt with it and let it grow out. Longest 6 months of my life.
It’s funny you feel this way about your hair, because I was just thinking the other day as I was reading your weekend recap blog about how cute it is and how utterly adorable you look!
LOL!!!
Love the pic, I think you’ve outdone yourself this time!
I recently got the worst “hi-lights” I have ever had in my life. My hair is about 4 different shades in different areas. Ugh! I haven’t called the hairdresser (a new one I went to) but I will def discuss it with her next time. As for you – I would definately discuss it with the hairdresser. What I did was do something to distract from my “platinum blond” look – I went out and got the worst sunburn of my life. Then everybody at work talked about the sunburn, rather than my hair! I’m not condoning getting sunburned though, but truthfully, that’s what I did!
Please call the salon manager. We’re used to dealing with this type of thing and will usually always get someone to fix your hair for free! (as long as your nice about it.) Salon research shows a good haircut virtually never gets any press but a woman who gets a bad haircut will tell one average at least 6 people. As you can imagine we can’t afford those odds!
Hmm… I am torn in what to recommend. Since I can’t see the haircut, it is a difficult decision. Since you said it looks best when you let it go crazy, I have hopes for this cut! I think your hair looks great crazy curly, and it’s so much easier to just let your hair do it’s thing, so part of me thinks you should give it a chance (allowing it to be crazy). If it really gets bad toward the end of the day (and you’re not just being self-conscious) then I’d work on ways to manage it at that point… just to make it passable.
BUT if you are going to be hating it and crying and upset… then call the hairdresser. I am sure they will understand and probably deal with this all the time.
It’s amazing how emotional hair can be…I’ve never had a really bad haircut, but one I tried to dye my hair myself, and it didn’t turn out how I expected, and I nearly had a nervous breakdown! Good hairdressers are happy to touch up a cut you’ve just gotten to make it how you like, but if it’s too short, you might just have to let it grow! The good thing about bad haircuts is that they will always grow back
Oh my goodness I just have to comment on how cute that face is!!!!!

hahaha AWW! i have had one or two bad hair cuts …but they have scared me so badly- hence why now I only cut my hair maybe once every 6 months (yes, it’s terrible), and I have NEVER died my hair and doubt I ever will.
Here’s the problem. You get a back cut, but usually when you call your hair stylist to fix it, they say they can and try to but lets say a year later the same hair stylist gives you another bad cut, if you try another “call back” after a cut, they will disown you. They don’t mind this happening once, but if you ever show disatisfaction again, they will get rid of you to save their reputation and not look bad in front of their boss. So be careful if you want to keep going to the sylist.
