Granville Moore’s (Part 2)

28 Jun

You may remember when I first went to Granville Moore’s with the fabulous Ms. Quinn. After our dinner with Quinn and her husband, we knew that GM’s would be the perfect place to take Bill’s parents! Since we had to wait nearly two hours to get seated when we went with Quinn and Geoff, we decided to leave around 6 p.m., just in case the wait was long. Only about 20 minutes passed after putting our names down on the list, and we were in and seated by about 7 p.m. Not too shabby considering our drive time!

I love the scene that is GM’s. It’s very small and rustic. It used to be an old doctor’s office.

As per the website, Dr. Granville Moore was a neighborhood Doctor who twice a week provided pro-bono work for the sick and less fortunate members of the community at the location of Granville Moore’s.

I’m not a huge fan of beer, so while everyone scanned the beer menu, I took a look through the dinner menu.

I hate to admit that I went to a mussels place, and I’m not a huge fan of mussels. But I liked GM’s last time we went – mussels or not. It’s just a texture thing for me. I decided to stick with what I knew and got a house-made veggie burger.

One nice touch about GM’s is that they also have a speciality sauce list. Tell me how many places you’ve been to that serve peach ketchup, pesto aioli and truffle oil?

The first round of beers came quickly, and everyone was happy.

The waitress also brought out the four speciality sauces we decided upon.

Oh, and I almost forgot that I sipped on some white wine :) of course.

Everyone was surprised by the portion sizes when they brought our entrees to the table. Bill’s dad remarked several times about the quality and quantity for the price. It’s a good deal! Even my veggie burger was mammoth – and you could tell it was cooked with care.

I did try one of Bill’s mussels, and it was good. Super rich, and I could tell that he had a dish with bleu cheese. Definitely worth it, if you dig mussels.

Check out the entire spread on our table. Tons of food!

Bill’s parents were really happy we took them to the restaurant, and we were happy to be with them!

After dinner, we went back to the apartment and did a lot of this: IMG_7480

What can I say? Scone knows how to captivate an audience!

Bill’s parents just left after a nice breakfast in town, and we are just relaxing now. It was such a good visit – but too short! We’re happy to be seeing them again in August.

Happy Sunday!

Don’t worry you aren’t alone, I wouldn’t have ordered mussels either! :) But the veggie burger looks absolutely huge.
