Katie and Jonas

6 Jun

If you’re reading this right now, that means that I have successfully scheduled a post to publish while I’m away. Hooray! This post is particularly special because as you’re reading it – I am participating in my good friend Katie’s wedding! I’m probably standing on the altar right now, weeping and dabbing my eyes with tissues – amazed that this day came so quickly. It feels like just yesterday that Katie and I were running on the Cross Country team in high school as freshmen. We have a lot of memories, which is why I wanted to make her and Jonas a special wedding album. IMG_6469

As Katie and Jonas’ wedding evolved, a lot of changes were made. One change, in particular, was the color and overall theme of the wedding. Katie had her heart set on blue but one day she walked in the store to look at dresses and a different color caught her eye: purple. Her colors then became purple and silver, so I made a wedding album that would match accordingly. IMG_6471

I tried to weave in some special elements from the wedding into the book. I saved some leftover tool from the bridesmaid gown and came up with a design for the front. I decided to use two pieces of tool to represent two hearts. I then handstamped their names onto some purple paper and adhered it with hot glue to the front of the book. IMG_6472

I think I matched the color pretty closely with their invitations, which were super cute I must add. IMG_6479

In the inside, I used photo album sheets and that same color of purple. IMG_6476

I used a simple-colored string to bind the book on the side and tied it in the back. IMG_6478

I hope they like it!

Congratulations, Katie and Jonas – I love you guys! kandj

I wanted to include a major flashback picture of Katie and I from ten years ago – but unfortunately, the photos are all in a box at my parents’ house. But here’s one from two years ago anyway, at a wedding in front of my old car (on the left) and Jonas’ matching car (behind us)! meandk
