Pizza Night!

23 Apr

Tonight was pizza night in the casa de Harbor. That’s a combination of Bill and I’s last name. We’ve officially decided we’re going to change our name to that if and when we get married :)

We love making salad pizza (noun: a pizza with salad-like toppings, must eat with knife and fork). We prepared the pizza together in the kitchen and had a lot of fun loading it as much as we could.

Toppings:

  • garlic and olive oil
  • spinach
  • mushrooms
  • artichokes
  • chives
  • fresh parsley
  • red kidney beans (on my half only)
  • gouda

After eight minutes in the oven:

You all know how much I love beans. Which means there was major love for this pizza. Muah!

I have been working on revising a piece for my Memoir class all night. Can you tell? I can because this post is extra spunky for this time of night. I am feeling creative for some reason.

What’s your favorite pizza topping? I’m dying to know!

Love the pizza! Veggies and pizza work so well together.
Although when I was a kid, my friend’s parents put frozen green beans on pizza. I thought it was the weirdest thing. Still don’t think it sounds that good.

Do you have California Pizza Kitchen near you? If you ever go get the Tricolore Salad Pizza – maybe they will add beans for ya. I love onions on pizza lately.

Um, love the last name thing! One of my philisophy teachers in college was getting married and she was doing the same thing. I remember thinking it was such an awesome idea!

Okay, that’s so weird- we had a professor at W&L with the last name Harbor… he and his wife created the last name when they got married (because their marriage was a “safe harbor”).

LOVELY pizza! My favorite pizza topping- or anything topping, for that matter- is goat cheese.

Love the idea of a salad pizza–two great foods in one! What did you use for the crust?

    Favorite toppings: mushrooms and tofu.

  23. Rose April 23, 2009 at 3:13 pm #

Hey all! We use a store-bought crust, but it’s organic and very good! Can’t think of the name off the top of my head, but we got it at Harris Teeter.

I don’t know that I have one particular pizza topping that I love, but I do have a favourite combo – chicken, bacon, pineapple. Yum!
