Sunstruck Oatmeal

6 Apr

So today’s post was going to be all about the sun, and how – although I don’t really like summer – I have been deprived of UV rays to the extent that my body can feel it.

4.6.09 005

And then I was going to show you a close-up of my sun and how, like a kindergarten drawing, it has rays you can actually see.

4.6.09 002

When I got in for that close-up, I saw something else completely. I grabbed a few more ingredients and made this:

4.6.09 006

If there were little animals that lived on the sun, this guy would be one of them.

4.6.09 007

I think he was a bit stunned. Check out his eyes bulging. Yikes.

He seems ready to go back home.

What makes your home a home (and encourages you to stay there)?

(PS: I accidentally put pepper in my oatmeal this morning instead of a pinch of salt. I wondered if I should own up to it on the blog and thought – nah, I won’t taste it. I definitely just got a bite. Yowza.)

Home is weird. I love my house. It’s full of bright colors and most of the walls are covered with pictures of people I love. The town my house is in… not so much. Mostly because none of said people I love, live here. :(
I think this might be your cutest oatmeal yet. I love it.

My home is like a museum = all of my family’s collections, heirlooms, etc. fill every space. Love it!!

ha! i always wonder when I’m going to put pepper in my oatmeal instead of salt :)

I love our house. It’s small and cramped, but full of love and pictures and random stuff that we love but probably doesn’t make for good interior design. It’s just “ours”.

    SUCH cute oatmeal! OMG!
My house is my home mostly because every nook and cranny has a memory of some sort.

Ack! Once I put red pepper flakes in instead of cinnamon… they were in the same type of container and it was early. :(

Love the little orange critter, so cute!

ahha so funny about the pepper!

Yeah, I need some sun over here too, it’s been overcast forever.

My home feels like home when I smell my grandmother’s cooking and get into my bed. Although it’s 1/2 the size of the one I have in school, for some reason, I really love it.

This is almost as cute as the banana slide!

My house is a home because of all the pictures of the people I love, and because my husband and puppy live here with me!

What makes home my home? My family that lives there. =)
Regardless of where we live, home sweet home is where my family is. <3

Hubs makes a home a home. If he’s not there, then I don’t really want to be either. :)

Glad you had a great weekend!

The sun creature kind of reminds me of an octopus! Cute!

  16. Erin April 6, 2009 at 3:57 pm #

LOL at your sunny octopus orange! You crack me up.

My home is home b/c the husband and I filled it together. We lived together a year before getting engaged, and it’s been 2 years since then. We’ve filled it with art and little bits from all our travels together.

My house is very cozy and warm. We live on a very busy street but the inside of my house is so sturdy and safe – I love it.
That is one happy looking bowl of oats you had today. Sorry about the pepper – that must have been a really interesting bite.

Hahaha I love this oatmeal! And look at you accidentally spicin’ things up with pepper – I can imagine that would definitely deserve a “Yowza” :)

My home is my home as long as I have something that represents my family and closest friends nearby. Whether it’s a picture or a memento, it’s nice to look back at memories on a rainy day! But it also makes me kind of a pack rat!

  22. Erin April 6, 2009 at 8:30 pm #

THAT LOOKS AMAZING! It might be my fave bowl, ever.
My home needs to be immaculate. It’s just how I live. But my style is very funky and I really love interior design. It would be nothing with my hus and two kitties :)

What makes home my home??? A wise woman once told me that she could live anywhere and be happy as long as she was with her husband. . . so “home: is where my husband is. The woman that shared this wisdom with me is your Grandma….. :)
