Bagel Towne Deli

28 Feb

One thing I love about Bill is that he’s always willing to take a driving adventure to find different eateries. Today’s lunch included a drive to nearby Rockville to the Bagel Towne Deli.

The place was different than I expected. It was in a developed sort of area that was trying to look like a town (but wasn’t), but the inside had a nice, cozy atmosphere with a hometown feel.

I decided to get the Yenta which was a bagel sandwich with hummus, carrots, sprouts, cucumbers and munster cheese (I omitted the tomato). For my side, I chose fruit and a pickle.

Talk about a loaded bagel. It was needed after this morning’s workout – that’s for sure.

Now I’m off to spend the rest of the afternoon doing some of this:

Totally disinterested in me. I may go read a book. We are heading to Rob and Kate’s house for his 2nd Annual Beer Tasting. Should be an exciting post with lots of photos + some video tomorrow!

And thanks to everyone who read my morning post about running. It was nice to share my thoughts with you and see that others have been in the same situation. I wanted to add (in case it was unclear) that I do enjoy running. I just need to set better and more achievable goals for this point in my life :)

Yay, I’m originally from Rockville. Do you have any restaurant recommendations for the DC area actually? My boyfriend and I are going to visit my parents in 2 weeks and I haven’t lived there in so long, I have no idea where to take him.

Have fun at the beer tasting!

The bagel sandwich does look good!

I can also relate to the “ex-runner” feeling, although I definitely never ran competitively. After a foot injury, I never really got back into the swing of things. I can’t meet up with friends for a 10 miler on a Saturday morning, but I’ve been working hard to reframe my thoughts and realize I can do a satisfying workout to keep me healthy. Take it one step at a time – good luck!

That is one awesome bagel sammich. It looks very fresh and tasty, and the fruit & pickle are the perfect sides. Enjoy your beer tasting evening.
