Crazy, Busy, Blah – but a Valentine surprise!

10 Feb

Yesterday was a crazy busy day. I just didn’t feel like blogging at 11:30 p.m. when I got home from class. And I had a lot on my mind – and just wanted to talk to Bill / play with my Cat.

I was totally stoked for my oatmeal pictures yesterday! But lately I have been so rushed in the morning – I don’t know what the deal is. I have not been back on my game since I’ve been sick.

A tribal symbol?

While I was taking photos of my oatmeal, someone got curious and came over.

I love him – and taking photos of him and putting them on the blog.

The morning rushed on through as I had two back-to-back meetings at work. At one of them – we had pizza, but since I am still weird on the red sauce I decided to wait and eat the taco salad I brought from home.

Eh, a little blurry. Sorry about that!

My busy day continued at my desk. I didn’t leave the office until sometime after 6 for my class, so I had a can of Amy’s Soup before I left. I also packed a sandwich that I never ate – I just wasn’t hungry for some reason.

Class was good, but the night was long. We had to bring in experimental writing we had done over the past week. I am so not used to focusing on words so much. I know I’m a writer, and that’s what I do – but as a fiction writer I become so immersed in plot that I fail to just have fun with words and riff on and on.

When I got home, I had a lovely Valentine’s Blogger Exchange surprise waiting for me!!!!

An Edible Arrangement from Ms. VeggieGirl!!!

And inside!

Talk about divine!

I’m not going to lie. I was starving when I got home and had not only a strawberry but also a slice of apple! They were so so good. Thank you so much, VeggieGirl!! Do you think these will keep in the fridge? I’m going away for a few days, and I don’t think I can (or should) eat them all in one sitting tonight!

Today’s bowl of oatmeal was sort of boring. Again, I was running late because I stayed up so late talking to Bill. I just had a basic bowl with pecans and PB.

Ah!! I am totally stressing out about my upcoming trip. Tonight I need to:

  • go to Target
  • go for a run
  • do laundry
  • PACK, PACK, PACK

Any advice on things on packing for a three-day trip? I am sure I’ll forget something. Feel free to leave a comment with some reminders of what I’m sure to miss!

Don’t stress too much! Pack the essentials like your toothbrush, pajamas, your camera!, and a comfortable pair of jeans, etc and you’ll be fine. I always overthink and pack way too much for a 3 day trip.

What a great v-day gift, enjoy those goodies, they should definitely be fine in the fridge!
I try to pack all basics for short trips, jeans, or khakis and all basic tops so that I can mix and match. Enjoy your trip!

I am sure you can put them in the fridge, or even freeze them! I bet a chocolate covered strawberry would be a great frozen treat!

    Don’t forget the undies. :D

Now, that’s what I call a Valentine’s Present!! I wonder how I can get this entry in to the hands of my Valentine as a hint that this is what I want instead of the standard box of chocolates ;)
