Flower for Monday Oatmeal

26 Jan

I think every one of you deserves a flower on this Monday morning.

1.26.09 004

Mondays can be tough. The start of a new week. Getting back to work after a fun and relaxing weekend. Just that all-over “want-to-stay-in-bed” feeling. Why not receive flowers on Mondays? I’d be OK with that :)

1.26.09 003

And this flower is special – it’s lying on a bed of strawberry-banana oatmeal. You couldn’t make your Monday any better!

1.26.09 013

And speaking of Monday morning, I better get on with it and get myself to work. It’s time for my SUPER LONG Monday. Catch you either @ lunch or @ breakfast tomorrow morning.

Question: How do you feel about Mondays?

I don’t hate ‘em. But I certainly don’t love ‘em. I have a regular meeting on Monday mornings, and that gets me right in the zone from the get-go, so that’s good at least :)

    So gorgeous!!

Mondays… too far away from the weekend!! ;-)

Hang in there with your classes!!

    Love your flower!

I started this Monday with a nice long pool workout before heading to the office. It was my first time, so it’s messing with my perception of time a little bit (it feels a lot later than it really is), but hopefully it’ll turn into a really good habit that jumpstarts my week!

Your oatmeal posts are too cute. I actually brought one to a Comm class to show an example of fun things I like to read!
    Love the flower.

I like Mondays (now). Mondays are my “off” days, I don’t run or work. I just focus on stuff that needs taken care of at home, it’s nice.

Gorgeous flower ;) I bet that made your morning nice and bright. I think the anticipation of Mondays (i.e. Sunday night) is much worse than the actual day!

I feel the same about mondays as I do about most of the weekdays. Once I get out of bed, the day itself is not so bad, but I’m not a morning person.

Lifeisyumbo – wow, I am honored! Thanks for sharing my blog post with your class – very cool :) I saw you just started a blog and will be checking it out soon!

Erica – I totally agree. The anticipation is always worse.

ughghh mondays are hellish and evil. i guess they make the weekends even sweeter though, right?
loving the flower, you’re too cute!!

I don’t hate Mondays either, I mean I’d much prefer it to be Friday, but it’s nice to actually feel productive after the weekend is over.

    Good luck with class tonight!!

    Pretty photos!!!!!!

    Aww, pretty :)

Mondays are okay. This semester I only have one class on Mondays, and it’s not until 11. So that’s doable.

Say hello to Scone for me!!

I only hate them because I hate my alarm clock :)

I like getting back into a kind of normal routine for the week, but that alarm – it kills me!

    Breakfast looks beautiful!

your oatmeal looks so cute! I’m done with school and don’t work, so Mondays arent really that bad for me =)

Awww. Your flower is so pretty! I’m not a big fan of Mondays just because it’s the first day of the week. Oh well. I guess if we did away with Mondays I would just start to dislike Tuesdays.

Pretty flower! Did you mash/whip the rest of the strawberry into your oats? It doesn’t look like the whole thing. Good luck with your Monday!

What a lovely way to start such a long Monday! Good luck!

  18. Tiff January 26, 2009 at 5:51 pm #

I am fine with Mondays. It’s the Tuesdays that I hate. That’s when you realize that you’re back in the thick of it and you still have a long way to go until Friday.

Thumbs down to Mondays…and pretty much any day that isn’t the weekend, because I never feel like I have enough time on the weekends to get everything done AND relax a bit.

    Lovely flower oatmeal :D

  20. Rose January 26, 2009 at 6:26 pm #

Rachel – I did stir about 4 strawberries in with my oats :)

  21. Fitnessista January 26, 2009 at 6:37 pm #

    flower oatmeal! i love it
i dread mondays! it’s my busiest day of the week, which can be a good thing– but after a super chill weekend, i do not look forward to monday!
    hope yours is wonderful :D

Honestly, I love every day. Is that annoying?

  23. Jen January 26, 2009 at 8:17 pm #

I LOVE the flower oats!!! yum yum!

Mondays, well, dont love them but I look at it this way: a fresh start to a new week! :)

  24. strongandhealthy January 26, 2009 at 11:26 pm #

I’ll be honest, Mondays are rough for me. I have a hard time getting out of bed. Tuesdays are always better!

    Great flower oats!

That strawberry flower is just beautiful.

I know that I like my new job/externship because I’ve been looking forward to Mondays ever since I started. Before that, I was not a Monday fan.

This is my favorite bowl of oats you’ve made. Pretty.
