Partytime USA

27 Sep

Before I get to party-time, I’ll post my perfect-bowl-of-oats-on-a Saturday combination.

9.27.08 017This bowl was simple because I was still tired from last night’s rendezvous and just wanted something good. I apologize for those who only come here to read a silly story full of overly ambitious puns. This morning just came down to simplicity.  Back to storytelling tomorrow…

YESTERDAY

So who went out last night to have "some drinks with friends" and ended up all over DC? This girl. Sorry for the lack of posting, but we didn’t get home until 2 a.m., and I was exhausted. The night was unexpectedly crazy – we met up with friends Kate and Rob, who had set up two of their friends on a blind date of sorts. We started off at RFD, known for having one of the best beer selections in the city (I wouldn’t know – I always get wine, shame, shame).  I ended up having some of the spinach artichoke dip, a couple glasses of wine (one too many, that’s for sure), and a Garden Burger with Veggie Chips. My pictures are completely off-kilter, so I apologize.

In my defense, it was really dark when I was taking these pictures.

The rest of the night ended up being ridiculous. We went from RFD in Chinatown to a nightclub on New York Avenue, then down to Metro Center (after we couldn’t get into the nightclub – too long of a line), where Rob’s friend Yonis picked us up. Turns out it was Yonis’ birthday – so we then went to a club in Arlington, VA (yes, literally all over the map). The cab ride home was much more money than I’ll care to admit. We had a blast though – I was just living in the moment for the night.

NOTE: I just realized that many of you who don’t know DC won’t know what places I’m talking about – let’s just say we were in a ridiculous amount of neighborhoods in one night that aren’t really that close to each other (not walking distance anyway).

BACKTRACKING (even more)

Bill and I are heading to the Baltimore Book Festival soon where I’m going to see my internet crush, The Amateur Gourmet, so I’m going to post just pictures from yesterday. Good thing I’m doing the post-it note thing so there’s some verbage thrown in there.

… thank goodness it’s here. And also, sidenote, can you believe these are cell phone pictures?

Sounds like you had a great time!

I have never heard of RFD! My office is not far from Chinatown. I’ll have to check it out one day.

Haha, glad you had such a fabulous time, sometimes the unplanned nights are the best :) . As creative as your juices flow, sometimes a simple bowl is just what the doctor ordered, I know I stick to it most of the time, haha. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Rose!

P.S. I just friended Bender on Facebook and saw you had wrote on your wall… so I couldn’t help but request you too… hope you don’t mind :) .
